WHY WORK WITH US?
Our Chief Research Officer and founder, Dr. Ryan Balch, brings more than 20 years of education and evaluation experience to our clients.
He is a national thought leader in educational survey development and validation and has led customized survey development projects with national, state, and local organizations.
Dr. Balch completed his Ph.D. in Education Policy at Vanderbilt University as an Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Fellow, where he currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations. Prior to his time at Vanderbilt, Dr. Balch was the Director of Evaluation for Baltimore City Schools and was a science teacher and administrator in Atlanta, Georgia.
Since founding Resonant Education, Dr. Balch has led numerous projects across the country focused on survey development, measurement design, and systems of evaluation.

Descriptive Stats & Summary Reports
Resonant Education will analyze and detail survey result findings in the format that works best for you. This could mean providing finalized Excel files or producing a fully public facing report on the findings, with data visualization and a summary of the findings.
Detailed Quantitative Report/Impact Study
In addition to the information provided in a Descriptive Stats and Summary Report, this would include additional analyses such as reliability and sample analysis or trend analysis by Region, School Type, Race, etc. We’ll work with you to identify the results you need, and will consider multiple audiences for formatting your information, such as: White Paper, PPT, Flyer, Social Media Posts, Webpage, etc.
Open Comment Review
Resonant Education can also perform an analysis of any open-ended survey items provided, indicating a summary of responses given, general trends and insights, and disaggregation by survey or demographic variables as available.

Resonant Education created and validated two 360-degree supervisor surveys in collaboration with BCPSS based on the existing research for supervisors under the Vanderbilt Assessment of Leadership in Education (VALED).
Each survey aims to assess the leadership behaviors of different supervisors within BCPSS - Principal Supervisors and People Leaders (supervisors of staff within the district office).
Both surveys include feedback from three different respondent groups to provide the most comprehensive assessment of supervisor leadership. These surveys are now being adapted and used in other district settings as part of the VALED leadership package.
The development and validation of the surveys was led by Dr. Ryan Balch, a survey development expert with 20+ years in the field, a researcher & senior lecturer at Vanderbilt University, a current Coach, Athlete, and Parent, and the founder of Resonant Education.
Survey validation included cognitive interviews, iterative pilot testing, psychometric item and construct analyses, and rigorous reliability and validity testing.

What are some of the platform features?
The reporting platform includes beautiful pre-built reports for response analysis, rollup analysis, and item analysis. All reports feature filtering and comparison based on the user demographic and sub-group data or based on responses collected on the survey.
